  • In December of 2011, the RCD received their 2nd reimbursement check from the EPA in the amount of $82,427.04.  The Babbling Brook Stabilization project is complete, other than some spring planting and seeding and lot restoration.
     

  • At their October 11th meeting, the LNNLRCD board voted to approve Fischer Excavating to stabilize 120' of shoreline at Schings Park, which is the bank just north and west of the bridge at Babbling Brook.
     

  • Fischer Excavating was awarded the Babbling Brook Stabilization Project on August 30, 2011, which is to be completed by March 30, 2012.
     
  • In July of 2011 the RCD board Approved an Amendment to the ordinance regarding new boating regulations. See Link: Boating Regulations
     
  • In May of 2011 RCD board members and other volunteers installed coir fiber logs and plantings to stabilize over 400 feet of the peninsula.
     
  • In April of 2011, the RCD received their first reimbursement check from the 3191003 grant in the amount of $67,504.58. 
     
  • In May of 2010, the EPA approved the RCD's 319 grant request for the stabilization of Babbling Brook and Lost Lake in the amount of $528,500, of which the RCD must match 40% or $211,400 in funds or services.  In 2009, the EPA approved the RCD's 319 grant request for watershed planning for the amount of $88,000, of which the RCD is responsible for a $22,000 match in funds or services.  The EPA has paid out $47,959.90 to the RCD so far.
     
  • Stabilization of shoreline at the East Boat Landing, Lake Court Center and NE of the Dam has been completed along with the fishing pier at the North beach and a 30 section of the West Beach.  We encourage all shoreline property owners to look at this work as we enter into our second phase of the Shoreline Stabilization Program. We have paid rebates to nine property owners so far.
